If you are a first-time visitor, you can join NCSC's international consultants network by following a simple two-step process. First, register as a new member. NCSC International Consultant Registry Privacy Policy
The National Center for State Courts (NCSC) is an independent, nonprofit court improvement organization which respects your privacy. NCSC has established an international division to advance the rule of law around the world by providing technical assistance and consulting services. To perform the duties for which the International Programs Division (IPD) was established, IPD seeks to create a pool of qualified consultants to conduct short-term and long-term international assignments. To facilitate the creation of this pool, IPD has created this International Consultant Registry on NCSC’s website. Persons interested in possible work opportunities with NCSC are invited to create a profile on the Registry. This privacy policy describes the types of personal information we collect on this Registry, how we may use that information, and with whom we may share it. Our policy also describes the measures we take to protect the security of the information.
Information we collect and how we use it
NCSC collects and processes data where the processing is necessary for the legitimate purposes for which NCSC was established. For the Registry, the purpose is to identify, evaluate, and contact qualified consultants related to our technical assistance needs. We use cookies only for authentication to identify you when you login to the Registry. Specifically, NCSC may collect and process the following data.
Personal information. You may choose to provide “personally identifiable information” (such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address), when creating your profile on this Registry. We collect the information that you elect to upload to your profile, such as a biography, your education and job history, and company information. We do not collect any personally identifiable information that you do not provide.
Non-personal information. We do not collect any non-personally identifiable information on this Registry.
Information we share
We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose personal information about our consultant registrants, except as described in this policy. We may share information provided by our registrants for the purpose of identifying technical expertise in furtherance of NCSC programs. Additionally, we may share information with government agencies or donors funding NCSC programs. Personal information supplied may be subject to a government vetting process as a condition of acceptance. Also, we may share information with third-party service providers we have retained to perform services on our behalf such as cloud-based storage services. These service providers are not authorized by us to use or disclose the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements. In addition, we may disclose information about you (i) if we are required to do so by law or pursuant to legal process, (ii) in response to a request from law enforcement authorities or other government officials, or (iii) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity.
Storage
Our operations are supported by a network of computers, cloud-based servers, and other infrastructure and information technology. We and our third-party service providers store and process your personal information in the United States, but it is possible that this data could be stored elsewhere in the world. We retain personally identifiable information until you advise us that you are no longer interested in serving as a consultant. Registrants have the option of deleting their personal accounts. NCSC reserves the right to delete or remove profiles of consultants on the Registry at our own discretion at any time.
Security
We use reasonable security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or destruction of personally identifiable information collected via this Registry and under our control. We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards for this Registry to protect the personal information you provide on the site. Notwithstanding the precautions that we take, we cannot guarantee the security of information that you transmit to us, and thus shall not be liable for any failure to safeguard your information, whether inadvertent or otherwise.
